Your 2020 hair care regime - Eva Proudman

Happy New Year!

January is a time for new beginnings, and many of us see the new year as the time to improve how we look and feel. That applies to our hair, too. That’s why I’m sharing some top tips for creating a 2020 hair care regime to make sure you have fabulous healthy hair all year long.

A healthy hair care regime starts from within with Absolute Collagen

A healthy hair care regime starts from within

Many of our #Absoluters know how passionate I am about a good diet. It’s the best way to achieve healthy hair and scalp, and the first step of your hair care regime. But not all diets are created equal.

It’s very tempting after the excesses of the festive season to try drastic measures, such as very low-calorie diets or diets that restrict certain food groups. You may think these achieve a quick result in shedding a few pounds, but they’re not the best for your hair.

Instead, focus on eating good sources of protein and iron-rich foods. Not only will you feel better, but your hair will also look better, too.

Another thing to add to your hair care regime is Absolute Collagen. Each sachet contains 7.7 grams of protein as well as contains essential amino acids that the hair needs. Plus, it’s only 32 calories. It’s a must to support your hair health and hair care regime.

What you should include in your hair care regime

Shampoos and conditioners that add volume to your hair contain proteins that can cosmetically make your hair feel thicker and fuller. So don’t just look at protein in your diet, you can add it into your hair care regime, too.

If your hair's a little on the thin side, there are some great thickening balms out there that contain collagen. These can really give your hair some extra oomph.

Another important step in your 2020 hair care regime is to dial down the heat. If you do like to curl, straighten, or blow-dry your locks, it’s an absolute must to use heat protection. It not only will protect against damage, but can also help make your hair soft, shiny, and luscious.

You’ll also want to visit your hairdresser every six to eight weeks to get your hair trimmed. It’s a vital step in the hair care regime to remove dry and damaged split ends. Regular trims can keep your hair looking and feeling great.

Healthy Hair Care Regime: look after your scalp - Absolute Collagen

Look after your scalp

We often forget about our scalps, but a healthy scalp equals healthy hair. Winter can often make scalp conditions such as Eczema and Psoriasis really flare-up.

Absolute Collagen can help to calm the underlying inflammation and support a more balanced scalp.

If you’re finding your scalp to be particularly dry and itchy this season, it might be worth looking into trichological scalp treatments. They really do work to clear and balance the scalp, and may need to be part of your hair care regime.

If you’re heading off on holiday for some winter sunshine, don’t forget to protect your scalp. You can wear a hat, but you can also use a mineral-based sunscreen on the scalp to prevent burning.

Looking after your scalp is as essential as looking after the rest of your skin and is vital in achieving healthy glossy hair.

Hopefully, your 2020 hair care regime will help keep your tresses looking gorgeous all year long. As always, I love to hear from you! If you have any further questions or want to know more about hair or scalp related topics, feel free to email me at eva@absolutecollagen.com
