Year in review 2019: Looking back on another amazing year
Wow, 2019 is almost over… and a new decade is about to come.
We can't believe the things that Absolute Collagen has gotten to do this year. We’ve had a very busy 2019, and we expect to have an even busier 2020!
There's been amazing acclaim from events, publications and #Absoluters across the board. We’ve reached over 1,000 reviews, were featured in a number of press, and even won the most prestigious beauty award!
Here are just some of our favourite highlights from 2019.
Award-winning
Probably the biggest achievement this year was winning Best New Supplement - Mass & Prestige at the CEW Beauty Awards.
These are the most prestigious awards in the industry. Think of it as 'The Beauty Oscars'. Our team has worked so hard, and we're also thankful for the #Absoluters that supported us all this time.
We were so thrilled to win this award. It was a great recognition of everything we've achieved so far, and it proves that anything is possible if you go for it.
Speaking at the CEW Breakfast
Our founder and CEO, Maxine Laceby, also had the opportunity to host a breakfast with the CEW about how to build a blockbuster beauty brand.
Ever since Maxine launched Absolute Collagen two years ago, being recognised by CEW was her benchmark. Not only did we win the award, but being able to work alongside them was a dream come true.
Launching in Ireland
Absolute Collagen also launched in Ireland this year, and we’re so happy to hear from our Irish #Absoluters! It was our first place outside of the UK and we’re planning to reach even more countries next year, so watch this space.
If you're from Ireland, you can try out our award-winning collagen supplement. All you have to do is buy from the website.
Maxine in the press
Our founder and CEO, Maxine, was interviewed by so many publications. This includes iconic ones like Business Quarter and Forbes.
Another milestone was appearing on TV! She guest featured on the Ian King Show on Sky News, where she talked about our rise as a direct-to-consumer brand. She also appeared on BBC World News to discuss working after being a stay-at-home mum and more.
Even more speaking events
Maxine also attended even more speaking events this year. From Top Drawer to The Awakening Festival, our amazing founder shared her story with thousands of women across the UK. This included what makes us different from other collagen brands and how she started her business at her kitchen table.
From battling dyslexia and working with no experience, it's been a long but inspiring road to get to where she is. Still, judging by the success she's had as a female entrepreneur and with the brand, it's been worth everything. If you haven't read Maxine’s blogs then we recommend you check them out (along with many others) here.
Mention in The Daily Mail
Last not but certainly not least, another highlight this year was seeing a story from one of our amazing #Absoluters, Donna, in The Mail Online!
Donna says: “Every day, I drink a sachet of Absolute Collagen. A friend recommended it as my hair was thinning, but it has worked so well I’ve had to go down to a sachet every other day, as it made it over-thick. It has also made a big difference to my skin, which is smoother, with less visible fine lines.”
